The feral hogs were brought to North America primarily by the colonies during their trade from Europe. They were first introduced to the southern part of the United States by the Spanish colonies. Ladies and gentleman of the jury: The Pigman by Paul Zindel is an exceptional piece of literature that is great for projects. With only a few shortcomings, The Pigman is a great choice for young adult readers looking for a true, raw story and is a favorable pick among schools. To begin, the story is narrated by John Conlan and Lorraine Jensen, two teenagers in the late sixties. Through a difficult series of events, they learn responsibility. This responsibility is a maturity which is portrayed differently than your average "coming of age" story.…

The ominous narrator of the short story, Time and Again, once said “hogs die hard” (Pancake 85). Many readers may read that quote and think it is only a simple sentence but in reality it is much more complex. The short story by Breece D’J Pancake creates a narrator who is a murderer who only picks up his human victims if they are hitchhiking on a snowy night. Pancake used the hogs and their slop to allow the readers to compare the narrator to something that is familiar. The unnamed narrator’s past in Vietnam 's’ war makes him have no sympathy toward people.…

What’s that Pig Outdoors by Henry Kisor is both a dream and a nightmare. It is a book written by a deaf man, and self proclaimed to be for the deaf. Kisor’s autobiography takes the reader through his life, starting with the meningitis that caused him to be deaf at age 3, to his adult life as a journalist. In between, Kisor experiences some discrimination, such as not being allowed to be a lifeguard, but goes largely unopposed throughout his life.
