With Ralph as a leader he becomes to controlling and does not accept the boys he do not follow his orders. He argues with Jack upon what should be focused on to help all of the boys survive and on top of that he is irritated by the young boys who refuse to help with the huts and play in the lagoon all day long. Jack and the other hunters have not been able to kill any pigs for food yet meanwhile Ralph and Simon are the only ones that are focused on the shelter for everyone as they struggle constantly, Ralph and Jack argue about what is more important Jack mentions how all he has been only focusing on killing a pig but Ralph rebuttals with mentioning how the young kids that only play in the lagoon only think about what they think they need and as he also argues that while Jack and the other “hunters” go search for a pig they come back hours earlier than Jack showing that they have quit “They were both red in the face and found looking at each other difficult”(52). With the bickering of the other main options of a leader it clearly shows that they do not possess the skills to bring together a group of boys and lead them to survival and with Piggy intellect it is the wisest choice to pick the smartest of the boys to be the leader of
