Friends come in unique shapes, sizes and personalities. God provides everyone with friends and throughout our lives we realize that the Lord specifically chooses one of those friends to be with us through all trials of life and never leave. God allows those people to hold a place in our heart. In The Lord of the Flies by William Golding we see Ralph and Piggy blessed with their friendshi. Little does Ralph know that their friendship will result with Piggy’s death. When you find a true friend you must hold them close because you never know when it could be your last day with them. Piggy is a true,wise friend.
Piggy shows throughout the novel his true and loyal side. At the very beginning of the book, Piggy finds the conch, a symbol for power, and instead of keeping all it’s secrets to himself he allows Ralph to have it. Piggy is a natural born leader and every leader has wisdom of some kind. At the beginning of the novel, he remembers about the plane accident and knows that other kids were in the plane. He states “We got to find the others. We got to do something,” (Location 134). Piggy also shows a lot of wisdom toward the conch. He has asthma and could not blow the conch to get the kids on the island’s attention, he instead tells Ralph how to do it. “He kind of spat. My auntie wouldn't let me blow on account of my asthma. He said you blew from down here (abdominal). You try, Ralph. You call the others,” (Location 165). In piggy’s last moments he shows wisdom almost like Jesus. In the bible Jesus answered many questions with parables and questions. It made the people think.
