Piggy shows throughout the novel his true and loyal side. At the very beginning of the book, Piggy finds the conch, a symbol for power, and instead of keeping all it’s secrets to himself he allows Ralph to have it. Piggy is a natural born leader and every leader has wisdom of some kind. At the beginning of the novel, he remembers about the plane accident and knows that other kids were in the plane. He states “We got to find the others. We got to do something,” (Location 134). Piggy also shows a lot of wisdom toward the conch. He has asthma and could not blow the conch to get the kids on the island’s attention, he instead tells Ralph how to do it. “He kind of spat. My auntie wouldn't let me blow on account of my asthma.
