On an island with no adults, who should rule over all? The boys chose Ralph to be Chief, but that was a mistake on the part of the boys? Piggy should be the leader over the young boys. He is smart, logical, and the one that is most determined to get back home. Piggy may not be the obvious choice, but he is the best option.

Piggy is very intelligent. He is the one who suggests to Ralph that they take a list of the names of all the boys on the island. He is the one who keeps reminding the absent-minded boys to keep the fire going. Piggy is the one who realizes that the child with the birthmark is missing. Piggy is smart and he is used to getting out of difficult situations.

Piggy is also logical, and this makes him a very good choice for Chief. He can rationalize things and he is able to "think," as Ralph put it. Piggy can use his mind in a

From the moment he landed in the crash, Piggy is set on finding a way to get back to civilization. He's always talking about his home, and even when Ralph forgets why the fire is so important, Piggy reminds him to keep it going. When Piggy dies, the whole island pretty much forgets about going home, and chaos ensues. If Piggy were Chief, I believe that he would have gotten the boys home sooner and safely.

Some may argue that Piggy would not be a good choice. He is easily overpowered, but this would make him sympathetic and a kind Chief. Jack is more focused on food, but Piggy knows that the boys can live off fruit without hunting until other more pressing concerns are dealt with. Unfortunately, Piggy is killed. If Piggy was Chief then the two packs would not have been separated. Roger was the cause of the two packs separating. Piggy was killed by Roger.

In conclusion, Piggy is the best Chief. He would make a fare and logical ruler. He is smart. He is logic oriented, and he wants to get back home. Piggy would've freed the boys sooner and with less

Ever since the beginning of the novel, Piggy has always been the logical character that follows the ideas of the superego. What differentiates Piggy from the rest of the boys on the island is that he retained most of his moral standards ( with the exception of assisting in the murder of Simon). Piggy has always voiced his opinion on the correct thing to do, but never has been accredited with these ideas. He was the only variable in the equation that remained constant, independent of the environment. This is particularly interesting because the idea of surviving a plane crash and landing on a deserted island in the Pacific Ocean would probably change a person’s mindset into prioritizing survival.…

    Should Piggy Be The Chief

In Lord of the Flies, by William Golding, Piggy should be the chief because he is a problem solver and he is kind. One example of him being kind is how when Piggy and Ralph meet all of the other boys, Piggy asks all of them for their names (18). Another example is when after Piggy asks Ralph not to tell anyone else that he’s called Piggy, and Ralph tells everyone (11 & 21). Instead of getting mad at Ralph, Piggy only tells Ralph that he’s upset Ralph told the other boys (25). Piggy is also good at finding solutions to problems.…

This relates to piggie in as early as page 22 and 23 when the boys are deciding who should be chief. He doesn't say anything about how he should be chief because he himself is the one person on the island that knew how to blow the conch, then he told Ralph, When the boys saw that he is the one who blew it, they thought he was the smartest one and that almost immediately made the boys want him as chief. Which is close to the same reasoning as before, Tech states next,” they slam todays gifted” which relates physically to Piggy and Simon's deaths. Simon dies first by the bots “slamming” him with their fists, then Piggy dies by getting slammed with a boulder and it slamming his head which kills him. Then Tech also states,”People never do try to listen” which also relates to piggie.…

In Lord of the Flies by William Golding, Piggy is the most mature of the boys, due to his intelligence and ideas and kindness to the others. Throughout the book Piggy’s ideas are shot down by the other boys almost immediately, even though it is obvious that he has the most intellectual ideas and thoughts out of all of them (Golding).Piggy’s intelligence shows his maturity, as it sets him apart from the others. His intelligence also helps him from resorting to savagery like the other boys, which shows that he is more mature and balanced, as not to resort to a primal nature. Piggy is also kind to most of the other boys, especially the littluns (Golding). He takes an almost parental role towards the younger boys due to always being left behind…
