One of the first examples of fear is when Jack does not respect Piggy, and he shows it through his words and actions. In chapter two some of the boys decided to start a fire so that maybe people on ships would notice them but, they had no way of starting the fire. Jack took it upon himself to snatch Piggy’s glasses off his face causing Piggy to panic and have blurred vision.
