Piggy Characteristics

I feel that piggy is the most important character in the society because piggy knows what to do when somebody is in danger or think of something that will help society. He helps with the boys that are in danger and tells ralph what to do when there is a situation that he cannot control. Another reason is in the beginning of the story where the plane crash and the only two characters that were introduced was ralph and piggy so that gives an idea showing who is going to be the main characters.

Piggy’s personality traits to survive is that he is smart and helpful. The boys never thought that they could use Piggy’s glasses to make a fire but Piggy did. When Ralph and Piggy were all by themselves when the book was barely beginning, Piggy told

Piggy’s glasses are significance of hope and intelligence through the growth of humanity. In the novel Jack states,”Piggy specs, if the fire’s all out we’ll need them,”(Golding 76).This shows how Piggy’s glasses are a useful tool for the boys and without Piggy’s intelligence the boys wouldn't have survived on the island. Also the fact, Piggy’s glasses are used as a positive attribute, however at the same time are used as a negative attribute of destroying humanity. As the boys change, the glasses are becoming misused,”Ralph made a step forward and Jack smacked Piggy’s head,”Piggy’s glasses flew off and tinkled on the rock,”(Golding 71).The boy misuse the glasses by fighting over it to make fire and picking on piggy because Ralph always defend…

The character from the lord of the flies that I admire most is Piggy. There had been countless times where I have been pushed to the point of giving up, but every single time I have had a way to escape, whether that was putting it off, making excuses or letting someone else do it, but in Piggy’s situation he had nowhere to run from his problem but he still powered through. He is a leader, He is relentless. He is thoughtful. That is why I admire Piggy the most.…

Ever since the beginning of the novel, Piggy has always been the logical character that follows the ideas of the superego. What differentiates Piggy from the rest of the boys on the island is that he retained most of his moral standards ( with the exception of assisting in the murder of Simon). Piggy has always voiced his opinion on the correct thing to do, but never has been accredited with these ideas. He was the only variable in the equation that remained constant, independent of the environment. This is particularly interesting because the idea of surviving a plane crash and landing on a deserted island in the Pacific Ocean would probably change a person’s mindset into prioritizing survival.…

Along with that, he is clearly bothered for the “others” on the island and plays the role of an adult himself, though the irony is his concern over the absence of a commanding adult figure. Piggy, how much ever emotionless, is not self-centered, his selflessness appears throughout till the book till the end of his short life. “All...other kids,.... Every character in a story has a unique trait about them. Some characters possess great leadership qualities, others can think rationally and outside the box, and a few were power hungry and wanted dominion. In the Lord of the Flies, by William Golding, in which the boys are trapped on the island due to a plane crash, Piggy was classified as the sidekick of Ralph and acted as the adviser of the leaders. While the boys were fooling around and attempting to survive on the island, Piggy represents rationalism, loyalty and civilization. However, despite all of Piggy’s great qualities of being able to think big picture, he was very flawed, most likely the most flawed character in the book.…

Piggy’s dominant trait at the beginning of Lord of the Flies is intelligence. When “Piggy put on his glasses “it shows his brightness (Golding page 34).The fact that Piggy wears glasses shows that he is intelligent because it shows he have a great insight on things in the world. As Piggy says “nobody knows where we are “it illustrates his cleverness (Golding page 34).All of this goes to show Piggy’s intuitive because all of the other boys thought a plane would come and capture them meanwhile he knew they would be stranded. As noted in Lord of the Flies “acting like a crowd of kids” draws the reader to Piggy’s penetration. Based on this we must conclude Piggy is astute because he acts an adult while the other boys act as little kids.…

When society breaks down, death and destruction incur. In the book The Lord Of The Flies by William Golding the effects of the breakdown of society is a major theme. Humans identities are formed when society’s rules and laws are non existent, and humans are forced to rely off of their own morals. This can be seen when Ralph’s tribe is demolished by Jack because of Jack 's different ideology . In addition, Piggy’s logic and intelligence when talking about advanced topics on the island also show how identity is formed through a lack of societal laws.…
