Morning stress and confusion is the problem that Pierce Patches intend to address. It parallels with the complications and challenges that many students face due to a lack of proper time management in the morning. This is often caused by poor sleeping habits which goes on to cause students to feel tired at school, because they lack proper nutrition as a result of their hectic morning. Pierce Patches are a product that release vitamins, minerals, and caffeine into the bloodstream to help users wake up on time and also feel refreshed and ready to conquer the day. The advertisement capitalizes on these flaws in student schedules, to create an immersive experience that is not only enjoyable to watch, but also generally mirrors the tendencies of many students. …show more content…
This is an example of utilizing ethos, since the advertisement and product were made by high school students that have experienced the problems their peers face and are now presenting a solution. A key point in connecting the student depicted in the advertisement and the other fourth period Advanced Placement English Language and Composition students is the reference to not completing work. In the advertisement the student exclaims, “Oh great, I still have to finish my APUS notes.” This is a utilization of pathos, since majority of the students in the class have either experienced the struggle of APUS notes for themselves or have numerous peers that consistently complain about them. This is an effective way to clearly reiterate that the advertisement isn’t simply from a company, but rather from peers that have found a solution and want to share
