Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS)

Working in the special education field, I have found several journals to be helpful in order to keep abreast of the latest strategies and technologies used in the field of autism. For my topic, I chose a comparison between the Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS) and the Apple iPad technology developed specifically to enhance children with autism communication skills. A journal I use regularly is the “Review Journal of Autism and Developmental Disorders”. This Journal is a trusted resource in the various areas of autism such as genetics, diagnosis, neuroscience, applied behavior analysis, psychopharmacology, incidence, prevalence, etiology, education, perception and cognition. This Journal has a respected editorial board comprised of internationally renowned experts who gather and disseminate work by researchers around the world comprising of clinicians, educators and advocates.
