Corporate social responsibility is an umbrella concept that companies have a responsibility on the impact that they cause on the environment, and society for they behave and with who they do business and the relationship with society as a whole, often this responsibility extends beyond the legal world and the lability of other individuals, as originations have tremendous power in the world and the economic wealth of these companies can use their influence to contribute to society though various partnership with the government, business and communities.
Pick ‘n Pay is South Africa’s 2nd largest supermarket chain store in South Africa therefore Pick ‘n Pay has a large impact on the surrounding communities and business operations in South Africa.

The programme aims to create meaningful relationships between business and school to bring new innovative ways to teach the prescribed South African curriculum. The programme has been an outstanding success as the school club programme has provided 3,000 schools over South Africa with 250 tonnes of brand funded educational content! According to Mrs Radebe, from Thabang Primary School in Dobsonville, Soweto. “Classrooms did not only become a better academic environment but also became a fun way for the kids to learn and interact with the content.” Bearing in mind the current state of the matric results, the School Club programme is aimed at making classroom activities more visual, more impactful and more interactive, supporting the National Planning Commission’s 2025 goal of improving the Grade 12 pass rate to 90%.
