With the unconscious in control she is rather eccentric than the usual depressive individual due to an identity disturbance, Tiffany demonstrates an unstable self-image and a sense of one’s self. She suffers from borderline personality disorder, Tiffany shows the typical signs and symptoms; she has shown high intense mood swings ranging from rage to complete sadness as said before, commonly for Tiffany she expresses very intense anger and cannot control her anger. Another contribution to her disorder is her reoccurring suicidal behavior, gestures and threats. When she had social interaction with Pat she had the tendency to act very irregular, childish, and aggressive towards him. As well as talking with him at the diner she created a scene with an outburst, Tiffany also had the tendency to reveal that she had slept with the men she worked with to Pat. Even running with Pat she showed a very aggressive gestures, either she yelled running towards him then challenging him to race her as well. Tiffany also shows a moderate sign of narcissism, the fact that she doesn’t convey or comprehend other’s emotions is a moderate not severe sign of narcissism. Though she was not diagnosed by a professional therapist in the movie she showed the symptoms. The death of her husband altered her perspective on life and society, but her moods changed immediately changing her self-image and sense of self. With the disorder she has a feeling of emptiness as well contributing to this dysfunctional behavior. She also shows moderate antisocial personality disorder, but does not have sociopathic or psychopathic tendencies like various infamous serial killers. As the movie continues Tiffany does have in somewhat a way of healing or therapy and that is with Pat that had suffered a mental break down that caused him to get psychiatric assistance, both suddenly find a solace or solution to their disorders. In the end Tiffany Maxwell grows as an individual being relieved of her stress, her perspective of life changes as well, her aggressive sexual tendencies are also somewhat alleviated. Though it is not said how both Pat and Tiffany’s future goes, theoretically they’ve made a better path than their very negative and self-destructive path that both have
