I attended Pi Beta Phi Elementary School from kindergarten through eighth grade. Through my time there, I learned many things which still influence my life today. My experiences during my nine years as a mountaineer influenced my knowledge, gratitude for my surroundings, and my appreciating for the people in my life. As a kindergartener, Mrs. Kathy taught me how to read, and as a sixth grader, I took AR tests in Mrs. Smith’s class over the entire Harry Potter series. The foundation and emphasis of reading throughout elementary school gave me a love of reading, whether books were assigned by a teacher or sold at a book fair. The foundation also prepared me for my time in advanced language arts with Mr. Ginn, which readied me for honors classes
