It is never too late to find something you are passionate about. I was a business major my first two years of college when I had my first conversation with a physicist teaching astronomy. I will always remember that day when I knew I wanted to pursue physics, but it was going to be the biggest change in my college experience and life. These drastic adjustments in classes and material was intimidating at first, but the fascinating material allowed my determination to take over. A universe of matter, energy and interactions that could tell about everything around me. The importance of this discipline was so prominent in many different fields, but the medical field had a seemingly considerable impact on lives, and I wanted to know more. This career …show more content…
Just a few of these important skills include self-advocacy, persistence, and time management. In my life and undergraduate education, I have developed these abilities. I learned self-advocacy after I switched majors two years into school, persistence in my radiology physics research to tackle complicated projects, and time management as I worked a part time job or two during my college education to pay my own bills and housing. Switching to physics was difficult but not a deterrent to my education which added a formidable two years to my graduation date. This subject became an encouragement to pursue a deep developing passion and interest in science. I worked to discipline myself through practice, research, and study of the subject. These skills are exactly what is needed to be successful in a medical physics …show more content…
I saw this while working with Brent Colby and Ryan Bosca, Diagnostic Medical Physicists at Sanford Health Fargo. With friendly demeanors, determination, and effective communication, they can efficiently advise the radiology department in understanding and overcoming problems. These physicists, affect thousands of patients a year and inspired me to look deeper into the technology and what it can do for us. They taught me I can also use my innovative aptitude for medical physics to find and enhance results. They showed me it is possible to make it my aspiration to advance the medical profession and improve lives.
My avid persistence, time management skills, and research experiences have prepared me for this graduate program and make me the competent and competitive candidate you are looking for. I believe a professional track in the Masters Medical Physics program is an incredibly useful and applicable program, and I would like to be involved. It is the correct fit to combine my personal and professional goals where I am always looking to improve techniques and practices. Your program would be an exciting, important step, and I would hope to gain enough experience to transition beyond the program and into the medical

My interest in physics was initially ignited during my sophomore year. I signed up for AP Physics 1, taught by a teacher in his first year, right out of college. His main goal was to encourage students to apply physics to the world around them and identify the relevancy of the course material. I was immediately hooked and I bought book after book about Einstein's Theory of Relativity, the Big Bang, and quantum mechanics. I was eager to learn as much as I could; in doing so, I realized that working in a laboratory setting, conducting experiments and applying equations, is something that I am truly passionate about.…

My experiences, academic background and personality are three key aspects of my life that make the medical field a preference and a particularly suitable field for me. My interest in medicine was first sparked when I volunteered at CentraState Medical Center working with geriatric patients. To further explore this interest, I joined the First Aid Squad in my town. Riding on ambulances and volunteering at the squad provided much-needed insight into the field and taught me valuable skills, such as patient care and effective communication. After completing a four-month intensive EMT course and state exam, I can proudly say that I am now a New Jersey certified EMT.…

Since a very young age, I have had an interest in, and enjoyed caring for others when they are sick or injured. During my Freshman year of high school, I began to realize that the medical field was my calling. I was not sure what area of study I wanted to pursue a career in, but I knew that I had an affinity for the sciences and the medical field. It wasn't until two years later, my Junior year, that radiography became the area of the medical field that I knew I wanted to concentrate on. I have been a cheerleader since third grade.…

College and career readiness for me as a future C.E.O. means having life skills and abilities such as resilience, assertive leadership, being able to learn from your mistakes, being able to challenge myself, and being able to work in groups. These skills and abilities will be important in the future, especially in college and in my career as a C.E.O., because they will personally improve myself and how I problem-solve situations. Resilience will be necessary to my future because I will need to continue working hard when I am struggling. In college, I may struggle in grasping a certain concept that I’m learning in class, but I will need to be able to keep working at the concept, asking my peers and professor for help, and studying until I have mastered my weaknesses.…

The career I have chosen for this project is a biologist. The role of a biologist can consist of multiple different studies, but primarily focuses on living things. Some biologists study things as small as the molecules that form organisms, how they work, and how they combine to create a working living thing. Others take a look at the ecosystems that contain living things. Biology can include experiments in a lab, or hands-on field studies.…

Also, it says that the work is most of the time inside, thing that I love because I don't like being outside much time. Judge/magistrate: I wouldn't choose this career never, because I don't like learning things by memory, I like more thinking in resolving problems and I think that studying laws I would need to learn much things by memory.…

Career Research Like in every career, it is important to like the job at hand, and I for one like to work with diagnostic images. Not only do I find the idea of producing pictures of others’ internal problems fascinating, but also the fact that I like to work with technology makes the job even better. Another reason why I would like to go into radiologic technology is because it involves helping other people with their confusions about what is wrong with them. I would be able to begin the process of helping others by producing an image that a radiologist will use to determine what is wrong, so that a doctor can determine the best way fix the problem. I like the feeling of importance that a radiologic technologist has due to the fact that without…

When talking about engineering one can see it as a challenge, but those challenges can be defeated. As for the lecture by professor Charles Hollenbeck, at Chaffey College on August 26 helped, in the sense that he made us envision of what your passion actually is. A quote that stood out when he stated, “Don’t go into a field for the money”. At first thought one couldn't understand why Professor Hollenbeck stated this until he introduced himself. He was a UCLA graduate from the School of Engineering in ‘67.…

This life event reaffirmed my desire to practice medicine. At this point I committed myself to becoming a physician-scientist who reaches new scientific frontiers, and at the same time, is able to provide compassionate and effective patient care by the bedside. An M.D./PH.D. Curriculum would allow me to acquire the unique and critical set of skills that would allow me to become a bright researcher who appreciates the importance of rigorous data and innovative discoveries in the basic sciences, and a physician who is able to translate and deliver the interpretations and applications of research findings to patients with compassion and medical expertise. Having been exposed to the joys and frustrations of science and medicine, I am confident in my commitment to pursuing a path of becoming a…

I find it so exciting that one day I can serve people by improving their health and do so using cutting-edge technologies, some which may have yet to be invented. I may not be able to change the world on the whole, but small actions can have a big influence. I look forward to creating a positive impact on a personal level, treating holistically and compassionately, as this is a career path that calls for an understanding of the human experience as much as it does an understanding of the human body. I have a passion for the science of medicine and for providing care. While it was initially my interest in science and biology that prompted me to enter college as a pre-medical student, my experiences volunteering in the medical field have strengthened my conviction to become a doctor and have shown me how rewarding the field of medicine is. I have worked in clinics as well as emergency rooms and have observed doctors and patients in both settings. I have seen how through the help of a caring doctor, patient’s become at ease and how a patient doctor relationship can become a strong bond that lasts for many years. The doctors that I have worked with have inspired me in my career goals and I believe that medicine is the right career path for…
