Physics Of Skiing: Potential And Kinetic Energy

Two principles that apply to skiing is potential and kinetic energy. potential energy is a result of gravity pulling downwards. Kinetic energy is the energy of motion. During skiing kinetic and potential energy changes. For example when your at the bottom of a hill the amount of potential energy is low . when your at the top of the hill your potential energy Is higher but decreases at the same time as your kinetic energy increases because your pulled down by gravity . Once reaching the bottom of a hill your potential energy is equal to zero , and kinetic energy has reached its maximum. The total amount of energy potential and kinetic when added together is always going to be the same because the law of conservation of energy. In this video
