Roller coasters have become one of American’s favorite amusements. Theme parks are more popular now than ever thanks to the exhilarating, fast-pace, “stomach in your shoes” rides known as roller coasters. For one to understand the fears as well as the thrill, one must first understand that it all comes from physics. Science plays a role in how we experience theme parks. Science creates the thrill in roller coasters, as well as real life experiences. According to the text, "Amusement park physics with a NASA twist", by Joe Schwartz, "science explains the thrills one experiences on a roller coaster and other rides. An amusement park is a great place to study motion and forces, and something different called microgravity (Source 1, Paragraph 2).
