“Mathematics as an expression of the human mind reflects the active will, the contemplative reason, and the desire for aesthetic perfection. Its basic elements are logic and intuition, analysis and construction, generality and individuality.” By Richard Courant. Mathematics is not just a mere subject which only consists of numbers but a universal language. Mathematics can be defined as “the study of relationships among quantities, magnitudes and properties, and the logical operations by which unknown quantities, magnitudes, and properties may be deduced” or "the study of quantity, structure, space and change" From a very young age, solving problems has been something I find exciting. Mathematics is particularly in challenging problems, which …show more content…
I discovered that both of these subjects relate to Mathematics in the form of symmetry. After all, it never ceases to amaze me how Mathematics seems to be everywhere at once, even in places you expect not to find it. In school, I totally enjoyed studying Physics and Chemistry and the laboratory experiments that we had. More than just facing my examinations, I was given the chance to participate in the Mighty Minds National Challenge. Moreover, I was once certified to achieve distinction for foundation level and merit for advanced level in the Malaysian National Chemistry Quiz 2012 and 2014 which organized by Institution of Chemistry Malaysia with the cooperation of Ministry of Education Malaysia. Recently, I was also short-listed as a participant for the Young Scientist of The Year Award 2014 held at Taylor’s College Subang …show more content…
Actuaries use mathematics, statistics, and financial theory to study uncertain future events, especially those of concern to insurance and retirement pension programs. Actuaries may work for insurance companies, consulting firms, government, employee benefits departments, or, more generally, in businesses that need to manage financial risk. A career as an Actuary is better described as a business career with a mathematical basis than as a technical mathematical career. Actuaries describe their work as challenging and interesting and generally enjoy a good working environment. Finally, I would like to restate that I would like to pursue a degree in Actuarial Science to employ as a future Actuary. To achieve my dream, I really want to continue graduate study in actuarial science. I am very much looking forward to giving my all to your university and hope to be able to experience what UK education has to

My interest in physics was initially ignited during my sophomore year. I signed up for AP Physics 1, taught by a teacher in his first year, right out of college. His main goal was to encourage students to apply physics to the world around them and identify the relevancy of the course material. I was immediately hooked and I bought book after book about Einstein's Theory of Relativity, the Big Bang, and quantum mechanics. I was eager to learn as much as I could; in doing so, I realized that working in a laboratory setting, conducting experiments and applying equations, is something that I am truly passionate about.…

Education has always been a part of my life. Long before my first day of kindergarten, my family’s love of learning has heavily influenced me. My maternal grandfather told me stories of people in places long ago with the same excitement and joy when I was five as he did when I was fifteen. I savor every moment I spend in my Uncle’s living room, their cozy furniture and reading lamps a mere practicality, while the books lining every shelf stole the spotlight. At nearly every stage in my elementary schooling, my mom inspired me to persevere and fought alongside me.…

Personal Statement The university application process is really frustrating in every country, but, the question is if the university to which you apply is a qualified one. The country from where I come didn't manage to recreate an educational system that can provide appropriate studies, cognitive matter and qualified professors, which is why it can't produce a fruitful harvest of students. I do volunteering for three years for “REPEMOL” (Regionalization of the Pediatric Emergency and Care Services in Moldova).…
