Last week in Denver, Colorado, a gay Latina teenager named Jessie Hernandez was fatally shot by police officers after reportedly stealing a car and using it as a weapon against the officers. Many people are questioning the legitimacy of the police report, and wondering whether this was yet another example of police violence towards minorities. While this incident did occur within the United States, police officers abusing their power is a major issue worldwide. It will probably never be known what was going through the officers ' minds when they shot Hernandez, but regardless of their thought process, it was completely unnecessary for them to use lethal force.…

This is because people with physical disabilities are so much more dependent on care givers to supply them with the support they need in order to live clean and healthy lives. Two of the main types of abuse that care workers will face when working with vulnerable and disabled service users are physical abuse and neglect. NSPCC (2015) states that physical abuse is deliberate and unlawful physical contact that causes harm to the victim, whether the damage caused is intentional or not; it can happen to men and women of all ages. My belief is based in part on the fact that not all situations call for the use of deadly force and sometimes it is the officer’s reaction that results in their use of deadly and not the action of the suspect. For example, Officer Betty Shelby claimed that she was temporarily death when she shot the unarmed Terence Crutcher (Wagner & Wagner, 2016). It wasn’t so much Terence Crutcher’s actions as his hands were visible and he was surrounded by other officers when he was shot and killed.…
