When I was growing up, I watched as my grandfather succumbed to Parkinson’s disease. On several occasions, he would take me with him when he went to physical therapy sessions, and I feel that sparked my interest. It was something that I believe helped him remain mobile and functional until an old age. In high school, I encountered physical therapy again when I got into an accident. Soon after, I ended up going to physical rehabilitation to get back motion in my knee. It was at these sessions that I cemented that this was the career that I wanted to pursue. Physical therapy is a career that allows me to help people directly, and I am convinced that rehabilitation through physical therapy is extremely effective in improving one’s lifestyle. My
