On 4/24/18 I met Ms. Dean at the office of surgeon Dr. Uitvlught. She arrived from work. She was wearing her sling. She reports she is only taking Motrin as needed for the pain in the shoulder. She tries to sleep all night in a bed instead of a recliner. At this point, Dr. Uitvlught will allow her to remove the sling and do gentle range of motion. He will also allow her to start a physical therapy program. They will work on a range of motion and then will slowly graduate in a few weeks to a strengthening program. I asked him if she felt she was out of the woods for needing a reverse shoulder replacement and he said barring any unforeseen accident she should be fine. The next appointment is on 5/22/18.
