For our first professional meeting as a student of physical therapy, we attended a meeting for the South-Western branch of the Ohio Physical Therapy Association. During this meeting, Sean Gallivan introduced how the American Physical Therapy Association is aiming to change and improve clinical education for physical therapy students. This topic prompted a lot of heated discussion, as many educators and other clinicians felt this proposed model was not well discussed prior to being presented. For a student like myself, this model poses concerns for the mobility of the profession. If one was to become specialized directly out of post-professional school, it limits where else they could go in the profession thus limiting the number of job opportunities
