In this discussion assignment, I will be sharing with you the results of my core values self-assessment, and I will answer the two important questions that were posted.
Core values are fundamental principles that guide a clinician on what is proper and what is not. Our professional body, the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) has listed seven professional core values and these are the following accountability, altruism, compassion/caring, excellence, integrity, professional duty, and social responsibility (American Physical Therapy Association, 2003).

Before I enroll in the DPT program, my treatment rationale relies mostly on what I learned from the past and the used of old books. Indicator #2 and #9 illustrates the importance of an evidence-based approach to decision making.
