Just like Physical Therapy, in Occupational Therapy, a new patient has to have an assessment to see their strengths and weaknesses. Occupational Therapists help individuals improve their daily tasks of their everyday living. One of their main goals for Occupational Therapy is for their patients to be able to do the same things as everyone else. Since the patient always comes first, a Physical Therapist’s main priority is to make sure the patient is as comfortable as possible. Just like Physical Therapists and Athletic Trainers, Occupational Therapists work with all ages of people. They help children with certain disabilities, cognitive, physical, sensory, and motor skills. Occupational Therapists work with infants who might have development delays. It is better for the infant if the they start therapy in the first few months of being born. If they don’t therapy may not work on them because they are already growing.
