How to become a Physical Therapist
A physical therapist, also known as PTs "healthcare professionals who diagnose and treat individuals" (American Physical Therapist Association). A few years from now I will be the go-to person when one is in chronic pain seeking to reach a state of relief. I have set a goal to become a physical therapist because I have a heart full of compassion, seeing others happy and in great condition warms my heart. The demand for PTs is steadily increasing and while working in this field one is guaranteed a suitable income. "Professional PT programs are typically 3 years. Most programs require a bachelor's degree while other programs offer a 3+3 curriculum" (American Physical Therapy Association). According to Study.com "Before one is allowed to practice, physical therapist must have earned graduate degrees from accredited academic programs in physical therapy. These programs typically culminate in a doctoral degree"(American Physical Therapy Association). Those seeking a degree in PT often study heavily in science courses such as: anatomy, physiology, biology, chemistry, and physics, the course students usually dislike. After completing doctoral programs PTs must become licensed, the requirements are set by the state. "PTs must pass the National Physical Therapy Examination (NPTE), administered by the Federation of State Boards of Physical Therapy (FSBPT)" (learn how to become). Before jumping into field PTs spend quite some time training by partaking in clinicals. Sometimes one can learn more by doing the job itself instead of reading it in a book. I find satisfaction knowing I'm able to help someone else. I am confident that I will succeed in this field with the help of proper communication skills, bedside manners, and always remembering to put the patient's needs first. I have decided to become a physical therapist for reason far beyond the money. As the demand for PTs steadily increase by the year and parts of the body continue to bring forth pain, a helping hand is always needed. After reporting to several classes, labs, clinical, and long hours of studying I shall see the day when I become a physical
