I do think this was in line with the timing the I may be given during my first clinical education. There would need to be enough time to do other parts of the evaluation such as system reviews, and test and measures. I felt that the questions I asked flowed in a continuous manner that was easy for me to write down the information, and for the patient to follow as well. I was also confident in the position I was sitting in while taking the history. I was a comfortable distance away from the patient and at an angle that suited the small space we were in.Before the taking of the client history, I was abe to talk to the patient for a few minutes. I was confident that I was able to connect with the patient enough, that the patient felt comfortable sharing their history with me.I felt that the patient had a difficult time understanding my questions in the beginning. The patient was unsure of how to answer my questions and wasn’t sure why I was asking some of the questions. I learned quickly that I had to change the way and the language that I used to answer the questions. I also had to set up a timeline to help the patient organize their

I and Jack met the patient in the Healthy Heart Program waiting room upon which our patient James discussed his interest in music and ability to play musical instruments with us. We discussed how Jazz was a form of rebellion against traditional music and how it was born in bars not college campuses. Next our patient was taken to a patient room to have his vitals take. It is interesting to see that in hospitals so much of the data collection and recording regarding a patient is done using technology.…

I have never experienced therapy, but always had imagined how the process would be. I pictured a couch and a therapist on a fancy chair like in the movies, and I would just lay there and vent about my problems. Initially, I was very excited to see someone whom I can speak with and possibly help me resolve my issues, but that excitement did not last long. Anxiety kicked in as I got a phone call from the therapist, informing me that we would start next week. I started to become very nervous about the whole client-therapist relationship, for what if I did not connect with.…
