“Yes, my schedule is somewhat dependent on my patients. Our hours in the outpatient orthopedic clinic are eight to five, Monday through Friday. Physical therapists usually have a normal work week unless the clinics are open later or on the weekend. The patients are treated for what injuries they have and what they do for a job. If someone is a police officer, for example, then the therapist would make sure the person can be able to run, jump, etc so they could be able to do their job. The APTA association said “Physical therapists examine patients and develop a plan of care that promotes movement, reduces pain, restores function, and prevents disability.” Communication is key (employers, insurance companies, and other medical providers). This is good for the patient and good for care. Some struggles they have with patients are when they don’t open up and let you know what you need to know to help them or dealing with them for several weeks to months but, it gets rewarding when they see the person recover and succeed after all the effort they put in.
