Physical Therapist Degree Program Essay

Being a part of a physical therapist degree program means that different standards will be asked of me to be achieved. I'm an undergraduate program, I am asked to learn the basics of my degree, but in a graduate program, I am being asked to apply a new set of knowledge and maturity everyday while working towards my future career goal. Professionalism in the context of being a student in a doctorate of physical therapist degree program means upholding my oath as a physical therapist and the physical therapy core values. My professionalism demonstrated in the classroom everyday will be transferred to the workplace because of the fundamental education being provided to me to know what it means to uphold my oath and my core values as a physical therapist.

By practicing the core values in the program and in the field, I will be able to apply the principles of accountability, altruism, compassion, excellence, integrity, and communication, I will benefit the health and wellness of my patient, my work environment, and my community. My patients will be able to depend on me for my medical care and that I will be responsible in the care of my patient as well as educating others on their care. My patients’ needs will always be put before my own, especially while I am understanding my patient’s perspective during treatment, especially while difficult and possible painful.
