Physical Geography Class Analysis

Looking back at the class, I realized how much I have actually learned. I originally thought that this class would focus on the physical geography. Yet, I was able to learn so much about the history, current issues, and problems that could change in the future. I have always been drawn to other cultures and now that I am more informed the more I want to visit regions of the world. This class has made me look into study aboard programs as well as humanitarian projects. I am also planning on serving a mission after winter semester, I know that I will be surrounded by different norms and this class has given me a good background knowledge for wherever I go. One thing I really enjoyed in the class was the country presentations. It was interesting

Being a 16-year –old, and having taken my first semester of college classes this semester with my high school classes on top of that, all here at CSN, has been an unforgettable experience. On the other hand, from the three college classes I have enrolled in, including German 111, Communications 101, and Anthropology 101, I have, in my opinion, learned the most with my Anthropology 101 class. This class has been a great and interesting experience that has allowed me to view the world in a different way than most people. To illustrate, even though I thought most of the things we discussed in class like linguistics and archaeology were interesting, I consider learning about ethnology the most memorable and fascinating concept for me. To illustrate,…

It is painfully obvious that FlexMed has had an impact on my educational plan in college. At first, I had intentions of studying History and Computer Science. Now, I am a declared Spanish major and am declaring a major in Biopsychology, Cognition, and Neuroscience. The only reason this has been possible is the flexibility afforded by FlexMed. It began when my five best friends from my dorm hall decided that they wanted to live together off-campus sophomore year.…

Being Mexican American I believed I had a bit of an unfair advantage taking this course. I was looking forward to learning more about my culture and myself but at the back of my mind I believed I would already know some of the material. I am very happy to say that I have learned a lot more than I expected. I have learned a lot about Hispanic cultures other than mine, politics, and economics, and many other topics but off all the things we covered in class the three that most stuck out to me were the early history of Latinos in the US, learning about privilege, and educational achievement of Latinos.…

The class I’m going to prepare for is AP Human Geography. To prepare I’m going to use Quizlet; this will help me get my vocabulary down so I can ace the vocab quizzes. I feel that if I can do better on those quizzes, then my overall grades should go up by at least 10 points. The next thing I need to learn how to do is how to take notes that will help me on chapter tests. If I can nail both of those issues then I should be at a high A.…

Professor Jose Emmanuel Raymundo made very clear expectations regarding attendance, behavior and participation in the beginning of this semester. Attendance was not only essential for adhering to the SRJC’s Attendance Requirements, but also to ensure concrete knowledge and understanding of the provided materials while moving through the course. I made it a priority to come to every single class this semester and I am proud to have achieved that goal. Arriving on time to class was also emphasized and Professor Raymundo provided the quote, “If you’re early, you’re on time. If you’re on time, you’re late” to showcase his expectations.…

This letter is intended to help me figure out what skills I have learned in this class, and what skills I was lacking and had already obtained coming into this class. This is my first year in college, but I had many of my teachers in high school that prepared me for the rigorous calculus course. I took calculus AB my senior year of high school, so I had all of the skills I needed prior to entering this class. I knew the Limit, Derivative, and Anti-Derivative topics, and in depth.…

Before I took this class I was so ignorant about my African culture. I believe it was because I was not curious about my ancestors, nor did I learn about the culture in school. I watched television shows and still never questioned what stories they brought about Africa. The things I learned from African American women in history were memorable. My professor was able to explain and demonstrate the African American history from the beginning of 17th century till the 20th century in order to help me experience history second hand.…

This spring quarter I didn’t know what to expect in my pan African class. I went in not knowing what it was about, but after completing the course and by doing the final project I learned so much. The elements that my PAS class taught me made want to learn more about the new cultures and different back stories, especially in the assignment where I had to interview someone about their story. It was a hard to think about how much work will have to be put in and I didn 't think it 'll interest me but I was wrong.…

Beginning this class, I was not sure what to expect because I did not really know what community health was. I signed up for the class to fulfill the requirement for my minor. Throughout this class, I have learned so much about the aspects of the community health, agencies, drug abuse, health rates, and disease types and control. These were all topics that were greatly interesting to me and I feel like the class improved my understanding of the way in which many communities operate. It also taught me the correct meaning of many terms that I thought I knew what they meant, but I had heard them used incorrectly so often that I associated the wrong meaning with the word.…

When most people think of a history class they imagine sitting in a dark lecture hall taking notes off a PowerPoint presentation, memorizing a few dates and people, repeating it on the test. Truly studying history, I learned, is more than memorization of a previously told story and accepting it as true. In this class I have learned history is about actively engaging the material, picking apart the details and nuances, creating and using timelines, finding deeper meaning in the material, asking questions, then looking again and digging deeper. It is not a passive study and not about memorization as I believed at the beginning of the semester. History is about asking questions and looking for answers, not just accepting what is already there, but…

Over all this class was great for me I was able to try new things with papers that I never had the chance to do before. Was able to be a lot more creative and think outside of the box and papers, I learned that some things work really well and some stuff I tried did not. Since I do not have a passion for history or politics this was a difficult class for me in several ways, and the desire to want to learn about it at times was difficult to maintain. No matter how awful that sounds, it is the truth. I do enjoy and have a fondness towards East Asia and the numerous cultures it provides, but learning about the disputes and often childlike politics between the nations is what I dislike the most. Reflection on any class is important because of the hope that students will form ideas from each course and mold them together.…
