Personal Narrative: My High School Physical Education Program

The avoidance of planning can ultimately crash a physical education program in a school. As it talks about in Graham, it can become not an enjoyable experience. When lessons are not planned out it can lead to injury and unhappy students. Once you get a mix of that it becomes unhappy parents and unhappy administration, which ultimately, takes away the value of your program. I can relate this to my high school physical education program, where it is the type of program where you roll the ball out and no one is able to progress skill and it becomes quiet chaotic and your participation numbers decrease because students do not value the program.

You can just tell that a lot of planning goes into that program by how intense the lessons were and how engaged and physically active the students were.

When it came to my middle school, the contextual factors you would have to consider in planning is, the size of the gym (one basketball court length), the weight room, rock climbing wall, tennis courts and the baseball and softball fields. But, I also went to school in Rhode Island so, you have to take into consideration the seasons as well. Like the book mentions you need to know consider when it comes to the different seasons how many classes and the size of the classes that you are trying to fit into one space. This is happens with a lot of planning
If I were to have a physical education program at a new middle school one of my objectives working with these factors would be trying to consolodate the number of students in each class so we would be able to accomodate every student with a comfortable learning enviornment and each teacher a teachable enviornment as well.
In all of the videos, you can see the different areas that teachers get to use. You can see that they are not all piled on top of each other, teachers spread the students through out and allow the students to complete class comfortably.
