My goal for the future is to go to Owen’s Community College for a couple of years, then graduate college at Bowling Green State University and studying to becoming an Athletic Trainer, or Sports Management. I have always wanted to be one because I’ve always wanted to become one of the two. It has been one of my goal when I was in the sixth grade. Also, I am addicted to sports,so I like to stay in the sports business of the working environment. If I do become an Athletic Trainer, I would like to be one in football and basketball because I like to watch those sports a lot more than the other sports.…
The class that I observed was Applied Human Anatomy and Physiology taught by Nikki Walker at Mercersburg Academy, in Mercersburg, Pennsylvania. This course is built around the students’ previous knowledge from Biology and allows them to delve deeper into the systems of the human body. Traditionally, students in this course use the information gained to recognize, evaluate and treat common wilderness injuries. Upon completion of this course, students will be certified in CPR and first aid through the American Red Cross and the opportunity to attempt certification through Stonehearth Open Leadership Opportunities (SOLO). Preference for admittance into this course is given to seniors, but the course is open to 10th and 11th graders as well.…
Mr. Ari Cowen was an athletic trainer my eleventh-grade year. At the time, I was still trying to figure out what career path I would choose. I was stuck between military and a social worker, neither sat right with me. I knew I had to find a career path that I would love and enjoy. I was changing my mind every week until my cousin hurt her ankle at soccer practice.…
In all of my time of attending Homedale Middle School, I have witnessed many groups of students more increasingly each year. I supposed that each year I become more aware and observant of the life around me--specifically, others’ lives. Some cliques I see only outside, playing football or staying far out into the fields. But others I see every day, chatting in class, eating together at lunch, or even rough-housing in the hallways between periods, which causes chaos for everyone else and blocks our path to class. Even though this is the case, it is easier to identify certain types of groups at lunch.…
The setting of my 2nd focus child was a Little Bucs in the preschool room (Inventors) in the classroom, but we did visit the ETSU library during my first observation. They are 48 months-60 months. I observed a 48 month old, male. I will refer to the student I observed as "P." I observed from 10:00-11:30 both sessions. The classroom was reasonably big, but the floor was opened with toys and an upstairs area where the students can go and hang up there.…
A. Mrs. Cox was very effective when she taught. The students were excited to learn, and they were very eager to answer every question. She made all of the student’s sit correctly, and she made sure every student was listening. She made sure they knew she was in control, but she was not aggressive in any way. B. Mrs. Cox’s classroom did show the use of Piaget’s Concrete Operational Stage.…
In the past few months, I have had the invaluable opportunity to observe one of the Athletic Trainers at The University of Miami and see firsthand what it is like to work for a Division 1 athletic program. Many people never see what goes on behind the scenes in order for their favorite athletes to perform at the highest level during sporting events. Being in the Athletic Training Facility gave me this exposure and helped me to understand just how essential the role of the athletic trainer is for a program. I was able to apply the information that we covered in class in order to get a better understanding of why the Athletic Trainer made certain decisions in regards to their athletes’ health. Every moment I spent in the Athletic Training Facility,…
One of the most dreadful and asinine tasks that we as highschoolers must face is Gym Class. The false gods that call themselves teachers tell us to jump and we follow suit like a dog obeying its master. They force us to run, sweat and suffer under their grueling leadership. You are then forced to go about your daily tasks smelling like a rotting apple core combined with spoiled meat. You walk through the halls and fall prey to the gazes of people who used to call themselves your friends.…

This year the sixth grade students boarded the plane to Middle School. For the first time, the sixth grade students had to be able to do many things that they were not used to doing in fifth grade back in Elementary School. Some of those things include being able to open a combination lock, being able to get to classes on time with a four minute passing period, and they had to manage nine different classes throughout the entire school day. Also, the sixth graders did some really exciting things this year such as mummifying a chicken in Social Studies. Throughout the school year the school held a couple pf parties for just the sixth grade students to enjoy.…
For my observation I went to the facility Rehad4Life, it is a physical therapy building that has many areas of specialties. The atmosphere of the building was friendly and welcoming, which helped ease stress and patient anxiety. I met three different patients and bonded well with all. The first patient was a home visit, which was a new experience in itself, so I got to interact with both the patient and spouse. The second was just as friendly and welcoming he updated me on the daily news and events around the world.…
I had the ability to observe a physical education class co-taught by Ms. Mussell and Ms. Potts. This fifty-minute physical education class at Saint Anthony Middle School was an insightful experience. The Saint Anthony Middle School is attached to the high school, but is distinctly separated. The drive to Saint Anthony school district was not lengthy at all; it is located within welcoming residential area. Upon entering the school, I observed a diverse student population.…
Throughout the course of my five days at the SAHETI primary school, I found myself astonished at various activities that are done throughout the day. Through the course of my practical, I was given a Grade two class to observe and I unquestionably discovered a recently developed love for that age group. I was always adamant from the first time I knew I wanted to become a teacher that I wanted to teach Grade one’s, but my thoughts have definitely evolved. During the course of my observing I was more than willing to help with various activities such as marking, doing spelling tests with the children, as well as helping them with any difficulties they were having with their work. I have gained a lot of experience after helping out with the activities and my knowledge for teaching has grown immensely.…
