Physical activity and nutrition in families are still important. I believe that physical activity and nutrition is a public health issue because it’s almost nonexistent, it’s not being taught as much. It is still important to embrace the benefits of physical activities and nutrition. In this new day there are a lot of processed products that have come along in order to satisfy families that are always on the go. Physical activity and nutrition the old fashion way like outside play and going by the food pyramid has become almost none existent. Even though in the US the importance of health in families has grown, it is just being done in different methods. Families that practice living a healthy lifestyle, their bodies are more likely to grow and develop in a positive way. Providing good nutrition throughout the family lowers the risk of several chronic diseases. They would have more energy to get through the day. Establishing good nutrition overtime could keep the skin healthy looking. In most families today, children suffer from early childhood elements that causes harm to them internally or externally, but I found that if parents establish a natural nutritional plan for them it would actually cure those harmful ailments. Also with promoting growth and development it can cause an increase in self-esteem, better posture, and keeps families in a healthier weight range. Most families do not feel a need to practice physical activity and good nutrition. Most families in the US get what they can afford and invest time in what they think is important. Most families that are middle and lower class put more time towards work, trying to make a living and they finances they have they get what they can afford. Most families today eat in front of a television instead of dinner table, and most likely having a processed dinner, and throughout the day the family is inside the house. If families could come together and invest time to do at least thirty five minutes of a physical activity then their overall health would be better than those that don’t. I believe there is a need to bring back the knowledge of the food pyramid because it provides the right nutrition needed to be consumed by families. Many families are busy but with the right choices and invested time throughout the day, the family could have better healthier meals and the right amount of physical activity throughout the
