Physical Abuse In Little Red Riding Hood And The Lovely Bones

The Little Red Riding Hood and The Lovely Bones share a didactic purpose: first, to warn innocent young females of the physical danger and possibilities present in the modern society, and second, to warn them to be careful with their trust. Physical Abuse is a variety of abuse that occurs frequently around the world. It is a very serious situation because people get murdered, tortured, physically, and mentally abused. People need to be told not to keep silent and to reach out to somebody that can help them. In the story, Little Red Riding Hood, Little Red was naive and trusted the big bad wolf. And in The Lovely Bones Susie Sebold trusted her neighbor. These stories help children and adults learn to be aware of the dangers that are right outside their doorstep. How can physical abuse and amber alerts be prevented? What can we do? We can start with teaching young kids by reading stories, for example Little Red Riding Hood. It teaches children not to give their trust to just anyone and how it is dangerous. In the Lovely Bones it gives a more detailed lesson of the possibilities that happen with giving your trust to someone who seems kind. These people could be your neighbor, a family member, a teacher, a friend, or a stranger who simply looks like a nice person. Since we don't know who the predators are it makes being careful that much more difficult. In order to protect yourself, we need to look out for things that are out of the ordinary, things that are common. If something causes you to think twice about why they are inviting you, why are they giving you a gift or simply why did they make that comment, these situations should be an alert for you to at least think twice about it. Although this sounds real close to being paranoid, in this day and age sometimes that's what we have to be in order to avoid negative
