The making of food using the sun's energy is called Photosynthesis. Photosynthesis occurs in the organism called Chloroplast. There is a green pigment inside the Chloroplast called Chlorophyll which absorbs light from the sun. Then the Chlorophyll uses the energy to make food.
The Main Ingredients or reactants of Photosynthesis are Carbon Dioxide and Water. As we breathe out Carbon Dioxide, it goes through the underside of plants called stomata. They get Water from the rain or …show more content…
We need oxygen(air) to breathe in and so does all the other animals. We also need sugar which is food and the animals need it too.
The act of breaking down simple food molecules such as glucose and release the energy they contain is called Cellular Respiration. The first stage of Cellular Respiration occurs in the cytoplasm of a cell. The second stage occurs in the organelle called mitochondria. The overall purpose of this process is to release energy from food.
In the first stage which happens in the cytoplasm, the molecules from the glucose are broken down into small molecules. In the second stage which occurs in the mitochondria, the small molecules are broken down into smaller molecules and a lot of energy is released. This is why sometimes the mitochondria are called the “powerhouse” of the cell.
The reactants of the process are sugar and oxygen. The first stage of the process does not need oxygen but the second stage needs a lot. The products of Cellular Respiration are Carbon Dioxide and Water. We drink water every single day because our body needs it and the Carbon Dioxide they produce, they give it to the plants for Photosynthesis. That means the reactants and products for Cellular Respiration and Photosynthesis are vice
