Photography: Value, Shape, And Patterns

Three art elements that are in the photo I took is value, shape and pattern.The picture I took has value because there is a shift from dark to light. The background of the image and the tree trunks are dark in color but then there's a shift to brightness as we move up. Value helps determine where the light source in the image is located and it creates a form of structure in the picture. Value also helped the tree that is located in the center stand out. This picture has irregular shapes because they all have a unique form. The shapes that are in the image helped resemble nature and gave the image an earthy feeling.The trees that are in the photograph has a natural pattern because trees are repeated elements that we see in our everyday lives. This creates a form of continuity and it appeals to the human eye. …show more content…
This picture has rhythm because there is a repetition of elements for example, the trees. Rhythm aid the patterns in the picture because they are both serving the same purpose by creating a sense of flow in the picture. Emphasis is seen in the picture because the tree that is in the middle of the image is the focus point. Emphasis and value work together in this picture because they are able to make the largest tree the first thing that catches the viewer's attention. We are able to see balance in this picture because the visual weights of the trees are evenly distributed making larger object catch the viewer's eye faster than the smaller ones.
