Photography Personal Statement

Though studying art and design at advanced level I have experienced many skills and techniques in photography and graphic design, it has also enabled me to fall in love with photography both studio and location. My course has taught me to look for the beauty in everything and has made me aspire to create stunning and unique photos. A photography degree in the industry would help me find my creative output through photography and help me establish myself in the creative industry.

Starting my college course opened my eyes to a subject that I now completely adore, I started studying photography. During the past two years I have completed both location and studio shoots, worked with both Photoshop and Illustrator, worked with lots of camera equipment and created images I am proud of. While studying this course I have shown skills such as creativity, leadership and communication/teamwork

I worked with the head designer; I participated in moving materials and helping with logging clothing. I participated in creating a few floral designs to show to the clothing company Next, and I found out after my work experience that they liked the design. I created a few designs on illustrator such as a cartoon rabbit and changed the colours of a dressing gown which I received positive feedback for. From 2015 to 2016 I volunteered for Cancer Research UK. I helped on the shop floor stocking and helping customers, I also worked in the stock rooms tagging clothing, organising stock and for a while doing some accounting. Throughout and after high school I participated in events such as Lancashire book of the year and Nation Citizenship Service, which allowed me to gain social skills. NCS is a government run program which takes teens into the world to try new things. This helped me gain teamwork, negotiation, persuasion, project management and problem
