Lenses are just as important as choosing the camera itself. To perform their job correctly, a photographer needs to use the correct lense for their job. A telephoto (zoom) lense makes distant objects in focus. This lense is used for sports, wildlife, and adventure photography. A wide angle lense is used to capture wide expanse such as landscapes, team, and class photographs. Mid-range lenses are used for portraits. Fisheye, extreme telephoto, image stabilizing, and night vision lenses also may be good for certain fields of photography. Lighting is especially needed for photographers with their own studio. A processing system is needed for photographers. They need some way to get the images from the camera to the computer or to be developed. After this process they edit with the software programs. A tripod is a common piece of equipment. A tripod holds the camera to keep it steady during a shot. Some may be a few inches tall and only cost a few dollars. Some pros include the following: flexible schedules, self-employment, specializations available for photojournalism, portrait, commercial, or fine arts, and they only need ability to start. Cons include: work conditions that can be dangerous, irregular long hours, a lot of competition, strict deadlines for jobs, and expensive equipment and starting costs.
In conclusion, becoming a photographer has its pros and cons. It involves a lot of creativity and good eyes for a perspective that others wouldn’t imagine. It is very costly because of camera equipment, and may be stressful due to short deadlines and difficult clients. Photography involves a lot of knowledge about camera functions, editing images, and business skills to be successful. Although a degree may not be a requirement, experience is a huge part of success. Success of becoming a photographer all depends on the knowledge, experience, and talent of an
