Stieglitz believed that the movement Pictorial Photography evolved to give a voice to those who loved art and sought other that pencil or a brush medium to give expression to their ideas. He understood that the earlier attempts at pictorial photography hurt its image, and it was looked upon " as the bastard of science and art, hampered and held back by the one, denied and ridiculed by the other. " As he believed it was not because of the lack of photographic images deserving to be called art, but rather because there was no organized movement to recognize them as such, and to promote it. Stieglitz, during his years working with the Camera Work, became associated with many photographers experimenting with the pictorial tradition.…

You can see behind them that even the tree is dying as sort of a representation of the depression being shown here. There is a small home in the background all by itself also showing the loneliness of the piece. The artist used very deep and dark colors to express the melancholy tone of the piece. Even though the background has color and some light, the men are made with little light and very dark colors as the center and focus of the piece.…

On May 11, 2015, five months ago, Time published on the front cover an Instagram photo captured by Devin Allen--the message intended was explicit. Indeed, the cover photo evokes a confrontational awareness to the most racial hot topic in today’s news feed. Time uses historic black and white contrast, scurry movements, and the no symbol as a call to action to those who advocate for racial equality and those who desire “justice for all”. – Do I quote the allegiance?…

The quote is clearly important, as the subject is pointing at it, and it takes up most of the frame. In the tenth photograph, the girl in the back of the photograph draws focus because she is doing the action. She is clearly engaged in what she is talking about, made evident by her hand gestures. Alex’s blue hair is also culturally significant. In the eleventh photograph, Dakota once again draws focus because of his bright colors against more neutral colors, and his entire person is facing the camera more than anyone else.…

The photographers are taking exposures of things like the wars previously talked about, but also they are taking photographs of nature and man made scenes throughout the world. American photographers like Timothy O’Sullivan, William Henry Jackson and Edward Antony were heading to the west with government surveys, documenting the lands that helped America developed a sense of cultural based in the expansive landscape that was so abundant in America. Across the world photographers also spread out, people traveled to the orient, and to Egypt making images that those from the west had never seen. This new abundance of photographic prints was something that allowed the normal household to have a respectable collection of prints that ranged from family portraits in the form of carte-de-visites and tintype portraits to a more scrapbook like collection of images from around the world, and the families would also have a collection of stereoscopic cards that allowed, with the aid of a stereo viewer, an early three-dimensional illusion created by taking a photograph from a camera with two lenses, then using a special stereo viewer that separated a person's binocular vision allowing a three dimensional illusion to be…

It’s a daguerreotype of a couple with their dead baby. The frame seems to be made of wood or leather but it’s unclear since it is worn-out but the inner frame of golden color looks like a honeycomb. There are spots at some place of daguerreotype making it unclear. The shape of the picture is semi-circle from the top and rectangle from the bottom.…

Shirley Jackson Lee argues that it suppresses voter turnout, however, I agree with Hans von Spakovsky’s stance that it protects the integrity because he makes a plethora of valid points. Requiring photo identification is a measure that is necessary to keep elections just and overturning this policy could lead to many issues in future elections. The need for photo identification is imperative in order to keep elections in the United States fair.…

Both Greek and Roman societies have interesting conceptualizations of sexuality. Greek society predates Roman society and definitely had an impact on Romans views on sexuality. It is evident that a system like Pederasty, to some extent, impacted Roman society, regardless of the fact that Roman society passed moral laws which further separated them from the Greeks. During the Archaic Age, dated around 6th century BC, there were big changes in Greek society. This time period saw the rise of the city-state and laws, as well as conflicts between classes and infighting among the elites.…

The moment that my father invested into a photo booth was the moment that I would begin to develop the skill of hard work. This skill would in time lead me to become a better person. Up until 2013, only occasionally would my guardian require my assistance with his work. I could either carry bags in or out of the house or support him in setting up. When my father bought a photo booth in 2013, that simple work that I did periodically would increase dramatically.…
