I believed myself to be smart, but not an efficient hard worker. My parent always displayed that he was a tremendous worker and intelligent. This was a time where I had to be serious with what I was doing. Being appalled and frazzled was what was going through my mind. Although, my dad purchasing the photo booth would change my life in multiple ways, it would ultimately benefit my life forever. My father owns an entertainment company, in which every weekend he goes out to weddings and parties to DJ. Occasionally, I would support my parent by carrying bags or helping to set up. My parents and brother led me into the garage where the photo booth was placed. The photo booth was approximately six and a half feet and weighed 150 pounds altogether. The bright lights illuminated the scene for an exquisite picture. You could hear the click of the camera behind the display, and the sleek sides could be felt throughout the whole photo booth. Our first photo booth completely amazed me; my father had bought a style of photo booth I had never seen before. Now that my family had our first photo booth, I was soon working in the family

Stieglitz believed that the movement Pictorial Photography evolved to give a voice to those who loved art and sought other that pencil or a brush medium to give expression to their ideas. He understood that the earlier attempts at pictorial photography hurt its image, and it was looked upon " as the bastard of science and art, hampered and held back by the one, denied and ridiculed by the other. " As he believed it was not because of the lack of photographic images deserving to be called art, but rather because there was no organized movement to recognize them as such, and to promote it. Stieglitz, during his years working with the Camera Work, became associated with many photographers experimenting with the pictorial tradition.…

The rooms that are replicated from his houses are so peaceful and calm, it really makes you feel that it was his room you were standing in. There was also a mini theatre room dedicated to his films, it was so much fun to sit and watch some of his old films and gain an appreciation of his acting career. The room dedicated to his radio career was surrounded with the sound of him doing his radio addresses, and the walls were lined with his own personal hand-written scripts. It was in the late 1980’s that the first of my family immigrated to America. Like most immigrants, they came to this country in search of a better life than the one they left behind. I admire my parents for having the courage to come to this country and start over from zero. For most of their lives, my parents worked in the fields picking fruit. It is a physically demanding job that pays very little.…

Unlike many of my peers, my life story is slightly different. Many of my peers share the story of living in a single parent home, being homeless, violence, and poverty. However, in my case, living in a two parent household is strange to hear about to my peers. For me, living in a two parent household means more work because of my desire to receive a full scholarship. Upon my research, I noticed that many of my older peers would receive better college financial opportunities because of their life experiences.…

William Wilson takes his readers on a guided tour of an undisclosed art collection in his monthly contribution to the Anglo-African Magazine, the “Afric-American Picture Gallery.” Wilson published this series in 1859, when the United States was on the cusp of the Civil War and when slavery was the issue of the times. Wilson’s picture gallery contains descriptions of art objects all pertaining to the idea of slavery. This gallery is intriguing because Wilson does not mention the location of the gallery or the names of the artists whose work is featured. Pictures five and six— “The Underground Railroad”— are particularly intriguing because of the secrecy surrounding the operations of the underground as well as the unique way in which the images are depicted.…
