2. How effective was your introduction of the lesson? Be specific. Don’t say “It went well.” (2 points)
• We could have been a little more effective in our introduction of our lesson. The first down fall was getting the children interested in the lesson. We only were able to get one child to fully go through all the “card” that that we prepared. If we were to do it again, I would say that we should take a few kids out of the classroom and do the lesson with them. We

Were you comfortable giving the lesson to the children? Why or why not? (1 point)
• I felt a little awkward and nervous giving the lesson. There were a few reasons why I believe I felt this way. Some of those reasons being, we were recording it for the video analysis project and I was doing it with my teaching team. I couldn’t’ ask for a better teaching team, but I think get intimidated that they are better at this then I am or that I’m doing something wrong. I’ve completed different lesson for my case study in ECE 362, but I take my child out of the classroom and we are able to work one on one with no other distractions. 5. What would you do differently if you were to do this lesson again? (1 point)
• If I were to do this lesson again, I would choose a different time to do it. Doing lessons during free play can be very hard and distracting as the children are more focused on wanting to play with their friends rather than doing a lesson with the teacher. I would also try to introduce it better, as that was one of our biggest down falls of the lesson is we couldn’t get children interested. We had about three interested in the beginning but then only one of them wanted to try

1-a. Share the learning outcome(s) you either wrote or revised using the steps outlined in the module. One of the course objectives I used to use for Music Cultures World was “Students will be able to identify and discuss the differences and similarities among musical performances from a variety of cultural contexts.” After taking the ACUE 1A module, I decided to revise the course outcome as follows: 1) Students will be able to illustrate the connection between music and dance in African music by producing a 5-minute flash mob. 2) Students will be able to demonstrate the application of a number notation system by creating a 5-minute gamelan performance.…

When I got my video, I would say that it was pretty awkward watching my self-doing the lab. My first initial thoughts were ok, I think I did pretty well. Then watching it about a couple of times, I knew that there were some things that I didn’t do so well or didn’t do during the lab critique. After having my one on one review of my lab critique with my teacher, I understood what I did well and what I can improve on. Also, what I could have done to make it better as well.…

I reviewed the speaking and listening standard for kindergarten. I think that the standard’s expectations of this grade level are on par for what kindergartners should be able to accomplish by the end of the school year. However, I am not sure that the standards are not unrealistic when relating it to the ability of the teacher get students to fully develop these skills. While student are fully capable of reaching the end result of the standard, teachers have to have the time to incorporate these skills into their instruction. With the amount of information that must be taught it, it will take a skilled teacher to strategically incorporate these skills into aspects of their daily lessons.…

This was reinforced by feedback I received which said “you seemed slightly nervous at first but then as confidence grew the teaching became increasingly better.” I felt this was due to a lack of preparation and could have easily been resolved by practice and repetition. That really disappointed me that I was unable to involve the students during my lecture. Few of the junior students also felt that I should have reviewed the topic material in a clear and concise manner (approximately 87%). Due to lack of time I did rush through my content and wanted to cover all my slides. After receiving the student evaluation form I was surprised that almost 45 students out of 75 were pleased with my presentation. This really surprised me, because more than half of the class was happy with my session.…
