Phoenix Children’s Hospital Thousands of children get sick in one month alone. The true fact is that unfortunately some of them are turned away or denied treatment due to finances. Many of the families that are in real financial difficulties are ones seeking long-term treatment for their children. Phoenix Children’s Hospital is a fantastic non-profit organization. They deserves your support because it is an organization that truly makes a difference in the lives of our children and their future. If you have ever had a sick child you can relate that the illness not only impacts the child but the family as well. Phoenix Children’s Hospital goes above and beyond to make sure the family has a fantastic support system and, a comfortable stay even in a hospital environment. For example their family center offers many comforts of home. This helps families stay focused on the healing and the recovery process of their child. In the family center you will find a full-sized washer and dryer and showers. The families can cook a meal in the kitchen and spend quality time together on the over-sized couch. They also have a playground for the children and families. This allows the children to get out of their rooms and interact with other children. Another great place for the patients and families to visit while in the hospital is the children’s garden. It allows the families to have a relaxing escape and enjoy the outdoors. One of my favorite places they have created is the peace room. The peace room was inspired by a previous patients. It is a soundproof place where the children can enjoy some privacy. The Peace room has a large wall screen and the patients can choose from a variety of outdoor scenes and soothing sounds. Another fantastic resource they offer is their parent support groups. This allows the parents to meet other families going through the same difficult situations. The families are never left feeling alone or confused regardless of their current situations. The team at Phoenix Children’s Hospital goes above and beyond in making sure the patients and family’s needs are attended
