Intro
Some might argue that prostitution (i.e. having sex for money) is significantly different from other business transactions in that it is not the same as any other business transaction. I will argue that this view is mistaken, because I think that prostitution is not significantly different from any other business transaction, but the same as any other business transaction.
Summary and set up
The view is that prostitution is not the same as any other business transaction. I disagree with this statement because I think it is the same as any other business transaction, in that it is work that is part of a job, an exchange of a service for money, and that it’s an agreement between two people.

This view is also mistaken because someone can sell body parts as a business transaction. For example, if we look at organ markets, where people buy body parts for their sick family members. This is the exchange of money for someone else’s body. Therefore it is possible for a business transaction to involve the selling and exchange of a person 's body for money. The view that prostitution is degrading, therefore it’s significantly different from other business transactions is also incorrect, because everyone views different things as degrading. What may be degrading to one person, may be actually fine to someone else. For example, someone might view strippers as degrading, while the stripper may just view it as just ‘putting on a show’ and not think much of …show more content…
This is because it involves the process of purchasing and selling of human beings as sex slaves. This view is also mistaken, since business transactions can be inhumane. Even though we have advanced a lot, there was a time before where there were business transactions involving the exchange of human beings as slaves. For example, the African slave trade in America, where americans would sell humans in exchange for money. Another example would be during B.C Egypt, where the Egyptians would exchange slaves for a goat or camel. This was considered to be a form of currency at the time, with little to no regard for human life. The diamond industry also uses slave labour to harvest the diamonds.The diamonds harvested with the help of human trafficking create revenue for the companies through business transactions. Thus, as horrible as it it, business transactions can be inhumane.
In conclusion, I have stated why prostitution isn 't any different from any other business transaction because it 's an exchange of a service for money, it 's work that is part of a job, and it 's a mutual agreement between two groups of a trade. I have also argued against some of what i might think are the stronger opposing views of how prostitution is different than any other form of business transaction. I find the opposing arguments to be unconvincing, and hence this
