As being a high school student,Community service is one of the indispensability from high school through college.Service learning helps us students learn about our community and get involved in it. Volunteering is the best opportunity to contribute to the community. I have volunteered in many places, such as the Philadelphia Marathon and the Ugly Sweater Run. It was a great time to helping people, not only to finish the hours. In Philadelphia Marathon, I was a volunteer that help giving out water at the finish line,help to recycle the bottles in the run and all those little things that might change the community. It wasn’t just giving out and recycling bottles. In the Marathon, people had run for hours and hours in the cold weather. The volunteers would cheer for them as they ran by.Those little things might not change the whole community, if a lot of volunteers do, it might help the progress go fast in the cold winter. The community needs people to volunteer not only benefits us, it improves people and the environments. For example, recycling might help improves the environments and community. Just like in Philadelphia Marathon, helping the runners recycling the wastes would make the environments better. The people in the community serve as it is a big family. When people needs help, someone would stand up and help. Volunteering would actually make the community better. When there are events going on, volunteers are needed for the events that would make it goes more successful.
