Phi 208 Week 2 Reaction Paper

Staff arrived to 208 where Nick was engaged in an independent leisure activity. Staff ensured that Nick was dressed appropriately for the weather and that he had all the necessary items for the day. Staff reviewed Nicks schedule with him using his “Go Tasks” on his phone. Staff prompted Nick to gather his items in order to go to work. Before entering his work site, staff gave Nick a preference assessment to determine what edibles he desired while working and also to determine where he wanted to go for lunch.

Nick arrived at work and needed a reminder to clock in. Nick completed this step and then put his belongings in the appropriate locations. Before initiating his first assignment, Nick obtained an apron and was assisted with tying it. Nick began by filling the bar with ice. Nick did well with locating the scooper and filling the buckets. At times, Nick’s attention was occupied by his stereotypy, which was redirected by staff. Nick was able to carry 4 buckets of ice to the bar and dump it in the targeted locations. Nick wanted to make a salad while at the grocery store. Nick was able to self advocate what toppings he wanted on his salad. Nick also located a few items that he wanted to eat and drink with his salad. Nick went navigated to an open line to pay for his items and then headed back to 208 to eat. When arriving to 208, Nick brushed his teeth using an audio prompt. Nick needed a few prompts to target specific areas. Nick ate his lunch and then packed his gym bag. Nick wen to ACAC where he completed two different workouts. Staff provided Nick with social praise while on task. Nick did well with making and receiving phone calls today needing prompts with answering specific questions. Nick returned to 208 Cherry, to brush his teeth again and then take a shower. After showering and getting dressed Nick engaged in some independent leisure until his staff for the evening
