Each participating, will complete an initial health screening conducted by the city medical department. Each group evaluated on: the time arriving in the department at the beginning of the work shift, the time it takes to respond to a 911 call, time spent on each call, time spent patrolling assigned sector, time spent during meals, activities conducted during breaks (catching up or reports or sleeping in the vehicle), and the time spent at the department upon finishing a shift. All activities recorded by the researcher, by way of monitoring calls, cameras, and body microphone tapes.
Researcher, will monitor each officer of each group from the department operations and dispatch control room. Data collected from the 911 operation center, will provide real time recording of all radio transmissions of all activities. Cameras located throughout the interior and exterior of the department building, will also provide real time footage of the participates. Body cameras, body microphones, and vehicle cameras are excellent tools, to gather real time data of activities conducted by each participate.
