Disqualification determinations are made on a case-by-case basis. A pharmacy technician or pharmacy technician trainee is subject to disciplinary action by the board for any of the following:1. The board determines that the licensee has committed an act of unprofessional conduct.2. The licensee is found by psychiatric examination to be mentally unfit to safely perform the licensee's employment duties.3. The licensee is found to be physically or mentally incapacitated to such a degree as to render the licensee unfit to safely perform the licensee's employment duties.4. The licensee is found to be professionally incompetent to such a degree as to render the licensee unfit to safely perform the licensee's employment duties.5. The license was issued through error.B. A pharmacy technician or pharmacy technician trainee who after a formal hearing is found by the board to be guilty of unprofessional conduct, to be mentally or physically unable safely to engage in the practice of pharmacy or to be professionally incompetent is subject to any one or combination of the

    If I were the hospital administrator, chief of the medical staff or the chief of nursing, I would implement stringent standards to follow that provide maximum protection which would ensure that the administering of medication is performed safely and efficiently. The most common errors reported by healthcare providers, are those that have to do with medication errors. The fact that nurses are often front line providers who are required to administer medication to patients (at the direction of doctors), it is imperative that instructions be followed to the letter and practices and procedures carefully executed to avoid medication errors, serious injury or loss of life.
