Pharmacist Personal Statement

Ever since I was young, I have always been intrigued by the role of medication in curing or alleviating symptoms of pain in a relatively short amount of time. My fascination began slowly after I noticed that whenever members of my family were feeling unwell, they would usually ingest a pill to relieve them of their ailment. At that time, all I knew about these capsules were that they were not meant for kids and that they could not be taken as a daily supplement. Thus, I found myself wondering why people only took pills when they were feeling poorly and not when they were feeling under a normal state. With this information, I finally had a clear understanding of the supporting role that medication plays but I felt a desire to learn even more of the specifics of drug absorption and its effect on the body. Thus, ever since I learned that pharmacists specialize in monitoring and optimizing the usage of drugs, I have decided to go down this path because I will be able to have a job that I am passionate about. I hope that by pursuing this career, I will be able to obtain an in depth view of the effects of drugs to satisfy my own knowledge as well as be able to provide information to patients about information for any medication that they are
