Throughout middle school, I had an opportunity to assist an organization from America at an orphanage. An American pharmacist inspired me by developing a deep interest in their work and the effects it had on his patients. I was fascinated how a tiny substance such as a drug has profound effects on the human body and its physiological processes. The differences between the patients' attitude, health, and mentality before and after receiving the medicine made me realize the great need for medicine. In junior high, however, my dreams seemed to dissipate due to poor grammar and low academic performance. By the end of my third year in school, though, I reinvigorated and reminded myself of my purpose and strove to be among the best students. As I proceeded to college, I became knowledgeable in science classes. During those classes, I became enthusiastic about learning how the body and its structures function together. I then found it profusely interesting how pharmacists can manipulate those functions to create drugs as a countermeasure to diseases.
