PharmaCARE’s Environmental Initiative PharmaCARE’s environmental initiative is meant to make the company appear to exercise corporate responsibility by showing its concern towards the environment. The initiative titled ‘we care about your world' pledged the company's commitment to the environment through actions such as recycling and packaging. However, the company’s actions in Colberia and its anti-environmental lobbying efforts prove that the company does not care about the environment. The Superfund Tax of 1980, a federal tax law, authorized states and the Environmental Protection Agency to recover natural resources damages caused by hazardous substances from companies or parties responsible (Bateman & Snell, 2010). Unfortunately, companies like PharmaCARE and Nestle have hidden their human and environmental rights violations under the guise of environmental initiatives. Consequently, they have experienced financial losses because of frequent boycotts advocated by universal human rights advocates and lobbyists. If the companies are planning to change the situation, they need to act more ethical by practicing theories such as deontology and ethics of care. Hopefully, when companies realize the importance of corporate ethics and responsibility, then the world would be safe from environmental pollutions and human rights
