Peyton Manning Advertising

A future hall of fame quarterback trying chips in a supermarket sounds like a decent idea for a Tostitos commercial. This is actually advertising Nationwide Insurance. While this advertisement might entertain the viewer and get the Nationwide jingle stuck in their head, this advertisement for Nationwide is unlikely to be effective because, it doesn’t mention car insurance, and because Peyton Manning doesn’t give any credibility to this advertisement.
This advertisement goes through a day in the life of Peyton Manning and doesn’t mention once that this advertisement is for car insurance. At one point in the advertisement, Peyton appears to be having car problems and they didn’t take advantage of this opportunity to promote their insurance by saying something like; “I wish I had help at a time like this, like I would if I had Nationwide Insurance.” instead, they just had him say, “Never been this lost in

While all of these factors make Manning more recognizable to most Americans, it does not help this advertisement persuade viewers to purchase Nationwide insurance. Typically, athletes endorse products that have to do with exercise. For example, Kobe Bryant endorses Nike. Most athletic companies do this because it adds credibility to their advertisement. It makes the viewer think, “If Kobe Bryant uses Nike products and he is one of the greatest basketball players, then if I use Nike products I could also be one of the greatest basketball players”. Unlike Kobe Bryant with athletic gear, Peyton Manning has no expertise with car insurance. If anything, Peyton Manning takes away from the credibility of this ad because, in this commercial he presents himself as an unintelligent jock that doesn’t know anything about car

I believe that this NationWide car insurance commercial uses all three rhetorical devices when encouraging you to buy their insurance. First there is pathos. Pathos is used to make you feel a kind of parental love towards your car, comparing your vehicle to an actual baby. Their goal is for you to believe that your car deserves just as much health care as your child would. Also incorporate ethos, which is shown in a couple different ways.…

In the Chipotle super bowl ad, there is a wave of depressing feelings being portrayed as the ad shows a farmer, who has just started a family, and seems like a nice guy that soon turns into a farmer that begins caging up all of these farm animals and injecting chemicals and other inhumane things into them. Luckily, the farmer comes to a realization towards the end as to what he has done and is able to 'save' the farm animals by undoing all the horrible things he began doing in the beginning. I believe the purpose of this ad is to get its audience to eat at Chipotle or to make their audience remember Chipotle so that when they are hungry, Chipotle is one of the first places they think of. This ads audience is families and people who are opposed…

The automobile has long been seen as an icon of American heritage and consumerism. Dodge’s super bowl ad “Wisdom” deviates from the standard commercial norms by using a variety of senior citizens to appeal to a younger audience. Dodge successfully delivers a commercial that captures the spirit of the American automotive industry through the use of the narratives delivered by old men and women of America. The video begins with several senior citizens instilling words of elderly wisdom on the viewers.…

This ad progresses back in time through the life of a dastardly man whom caused many crimes in his life such as bank robbery, possible rape, manslaughter, and animal cruelty among other things. The ad ends on a woman asking a man if he has protection and he says what’s the worst that can happen. The unethical ramifications if this advertisement had been aired are more apparent. The ethical theme that this advertisement is trying and failing to represent is Justice. Had this man never been born all of those horrendous deeds would not have occurred and his parents have the ethical responsibility to not bring him into the world.…

Being a safe and responsible driver is very important in this world. Taking some one life away or injuring them is very selfish because it’s not that hardtop be a cautious driver. By having the ads with the kids to adults in age pictures with the tire marks across their faces provide pathos. Also they provided logos by adding quotes to the pictures that will catch a person’s eyes and make them stop and think. They also handed out pamphlets, and reflective zipper pulls that would make every single person most likely think about being a safer driver or even walking being aware at night.…

Of all the 2016 Super Bowl commercials, the commercial I have concluded the most effective is the Hyundai commercial with Kevin Hart. However, effective is a subjective word in this case, but the criteria used in my perspective of it is that the commercial created a connection with the viewer, was able to be memorable, and set itself apart as more than “just a product”. Through a mix of storytelling, playfulness, and outrageous acts; Hyundai was able to achieve and surpass those criteria. The first thing that many people, from peers to big companies, pointed out about the Hyundai commercial was Kevin Hart. Hart is an extremely recognizable star for his hilarious comedy and his playful personality.…

In the specific commercial, Maddie by 2014 Chevy the message can best be portrayed as, Chevy cars are going to last for the long run. This can be most easily understood by the last note left on the screen at the end of the commercial, “A best friend for life’s journey.” This helps watchers come to the conclusion that Chevy cars are meant to last much as the analogy that a pet will act as your best friend for life. That is the point of going through the emotions of the commercial because you will eventually make the connection that the point of the commercial is for the car to act as a “dog” in life. Another message that can be taken from this commercial is that Chevy is thinking about your life journey when the company is mass manufacturing their cars.…

Smoking Ads Through the Years Over the past few hundred years, smoking has been a prominent habit and a huge industry, generating billions of dollars. Now due to change in laws and societal taste, cigarettes and their use of ads to entice buyers have been on the decline. On the other hand, anti-smoking ads have been on the rise. Both of these types of ads, though polar opposite, have used similar tactics to incite change in viewers’ habits, whether it’s to buy their cigarettes, or to quit them altogether.…
