Sinasegi, Thank you for your post. I appreciated your observations regarding Pettijohn’s (2013) analysis of the types of activities with which nonprofit volunteers are typically engaged. Figure 5, provides a well deserved reminder that volunteers can connect to an organization’s mission in a variety of ways, though it was interesting that the largest percentage fell in the areas of “Administration and support” (Pettijohn, 2013, p.8). In your post, you make the point that, “When people understand the purpose and mission of an organization, they will spend more time to volunteer” (Talamoa, 2016, para.2). I agree that the mission of an organization must be clearly articulated, however, I believe the catalyst toward volunteerism must be found
