Petruchio’s Taming the Shrew
Man and women live together in perfect unison, if one is completely oblivious. Throughout history, the two have been at odds with one another. Of course, much has happened to cause such rivalries,but historically, women do get the short end of the stick. Thus, the Feminist literary lens was born. Focusing on the struggle of women against men and other social prejudices is the focus of this lens. Negative views usually denote the horrid treatment of women and vice versa for the positive treatment. In The Taming of the Shrew, a negative Feminist outlook is displayed in Petruchio’s vile intentions, his treatment of Kate, and the way all the previous digressions affect Kate.
