1.1 Introduction
Petroliam Nasional Berhad or known as PETRONAS was established in 1974. PETRONAS is Malaysia’s fully integrated oil and gas multinational ranked among the largest corporations on FORTUNE Global 500®. PETRONAS is Malaysia’s national oil and gas where they do their research about oil and gas and they explore them to fulfill Malaysia’s society needed. This company has presence in more than 30 countries all around the world.

As the demand growing, PETRONAS was inspired and they have strengthens their purpose to make a new solution to fulfill the demand.

PETRONAS have implementing training to their employees as the employees entered the company. PETRONAS not only implementing the skills and knowledge through the formal training but PETRONAS also implementing the skills and knowledge through day-to-day mentoring and coaching, on-the-job training, job enrichment and others. PETRONAS have cover the training in various areas such as exploration and production, oil, petrochemical, gas, logistic and maritime as well as research and technology that designed to meet the global needs.

PETRONAS have their own educational and training institution to educate and improve the skills of their employees. The names of four educational and training institutions are Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS (UTP), Maritime Academy of Malaysia (ALAM), PETRONAS Leadership Centre (PLC) and Institut Teknologi Petroleum PETRONAS
